KAB(Korea Accreditation Board) of Republic of Korea, and KAN(Komite Akreditasi Nasional) of Indonesia have signed an agreement of MOU to facilitate the overseas expansion of domestic CBs on 11th of December, 2019. The delegation of BSN(Badan Standardisasi Nasional) including the chairman of BSN, Bambang Prasetya and other 5 personnel attended the signing ceremony held at KAB office in Gasan-dong, Seoul.
To meet the increasing trend of economic cooperation between Indonesia and Republic of Korea with the recent CEPA(Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement)signing, both parties agree that the partnership by signing MOU this time shall be an important step toward strengthening the cooperation between ABs in the field of accreditation. The articles of MOU for cooperation are exchanging the information of each party when CBs expanding to the other party’s certification market, conducting joint assessments, and organizing annual meetings and mutual dispatch service.
By signing MOU this time, KAB will continue its supporting overseas expansion of domestic CBs started from last year by cooperation with ABs of emerging markets in East-South Asia.
KAB CEO Sang-jae Yun emphasized: “ABs of both parties shall also follow the current trend of special strategic partnership between governments of Korea and Indonesia and play their roles in the field of accreditation for further cooperation between two countries. KAB will lead the certification industry of Korea including Halal certification to a new level of business creation and innovation
By signing MOU agreement this time, adding to the cooperation between two ABs, the strategic partnership with KAN for developing domestic certification industry is expected to begin.
